Amyloid Beta Protein

Plaques_FibrillenIn Alzheimer outside the nerve cells hard, insoluble deposits of the protein b-amyloid form protein clumps. These amyloid plaques accumulate pathologically between nerve cells and also in the walls of small blood vessels in the brain, resulting in disorders of oxygen and energy supply to the brain. In a healthy brain, these protein fragments are typically decomposed and degraded.
