Music effect research

Developed over several years as part of the research program MusikMedizin of the Paracelsus Medical University the audiotherapy uses the latest scientific findings of the music effect research on the therapeutic effects of music.

The music effect research focuses on various levels with the reactions of people to musical stimuli and aims to develop qualified, therapeutic applications of specific music. A therapeutically active music program needs to be specially composed for each diagnosis and the consequent dysregulations and has to be listened regularly by an established scheme for several weeks.

SANOSON in Vienna has specialized on the development and application of music for medical purposes. Its research partners are the PMU in Salzburg, the University of Heidelberg, various American universities, among others the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota, as well as several clinics in Germany and Austria. In many years of research Audio therapies for the treatment of depression and burnout, as well as a program to increase the cognitive abilities of the brain have already been developed.
