Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps to preserve everyday functions as long as possible in mild to moderate dementia. Independence in everyday life is to be increased, with the aim to enhance the quality of life and relieve the family members in consequence.
Together with the subject the performing of daily tasks such as washing, dressing, shopping, cooking, reading the newspaper are practiced pointedly. Also body awareness and agility are promoted. The individual shall be supported to remain autonomous as long as possible. The inclusion of the members is essential here – they are advised in adapting the environment of the patient and in selecting appropriate tools.
